The Topic of Daily Fountain Devotional for 11th January 2024 Is ”The Right To Become Children Of God”

Read: John 1: 12-13(NKJV)

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

ANGLICAN COMMUNION DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE  FOR 11TH JANUARY 2024.

There is great truth in the assertion that the confidence of a Christian is never in his achievement, but in that which Christ has accomplished. In another sense, there is a freedom that comes to all in order to make a choice, and it is that freedom to choose that determines how this life is lived and enjoyed and, ultimately, our final destination in eternity. Our reading yesterday tells us that Jesus Christ came to “his own” people, but unfortunately, they chose to reject Him. It is amazing how God graciously gives choices and rights, yet it is our ability to utilise our choices well that makes it possible to appropriate the rights that God gives.

Our passage today tells us that God gives the right to become His (v.12). However, our being accepted as God’s children is only possible when we exercise our choices to accept and believe in Jesus Christ. God does not require any payments or efforts from us to accept us! The only condition is that we believe in the name of Christ and accept His lordship over our lives! Is anything stopping you from believing and receiving Him? Make your choices wisely today; if you choose to reject him today, you will also be rejected on the Last Day.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to accept and walk in close relationship with You from now on. Amen.
