First Reading: Hebrews 1: 1-6
1 God, who, at sundry times and in divers manners, spoke in times past to the fathers by the prophets, last of all,
2Â In these days hath spoken to us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the world.
3Â Who being the brightness of his glory, and the figure of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, making purgation of sins, sitteth on the right hand of the majesty on high.
4Â Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath inherited a more excellent name than they.
5Â For to which of the angels hath he said at any time, Thou art my Son, today have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
6Â And again, when he bringeth in the first begotten into the world, he saith: And let all the angels of God adore him.
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 97: 1 and 2b, 6 and 7c, 9
R. (7c) Let all his angels worship him.
1Â The Lord hath reigned, let the earth rejoice: let many islands be glad.
2b Justice and judgment are the establishment of his throne.

Gospel: Mark 1: 14-20
14 And after that John was delivered up, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
15Â And saying: The time is accomplished, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent, and believe the gospel.
16Â And passing by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother, casting nets into the sea (for they were fishermen).
17Â And Jesus said to them: Come after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.
18Â And immediately leaving their nets, they followed him.
19Â And going on from thence a little farther, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were mending their nets in the ship:
20Â And forthwith he called them. And leaving their father Zebedee in the ship with his hired men, they followed him.
