LOVE WORTH FINDING DEVOTIONAL – MESSAGE FOR TODAY.
When you are born-again, your birthday gift is the Holy Spirit. You receive the Holy Spirit when you repent and believe the gospel and He comes to live within you. What does He come in to do? He comes in to control your life. Salvation is not just believing something or achieving something, it is receiving Someone. Salvation is not getting Man out of Earth into Heaven. That’s just the byproduct of salvation. Salvation is getting God out of Heaven into Man.
How can you receive this? Repent. Believe the Gospel. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Jesus did not call us to make decisions; He called us to make disciples. People may have gone through all these other things, but if they don’t continue, they’re not saved. It’s not that they lost salvation; they never had it.
Real salvation is not merely an act that you look back to, it is a present experience. The question is not what you did once in the past. The question is the person sitting in your seat, right now, trusting Christ as his or her personal Savior. The Bible tells us to look to the present reality. The way I can know I’m saved is that I’m now believing in Jesus Christ as my personal Savior.
