Many of the struggles Christians face today are a direct result of failing to observe what’s happening in the spiritual realm. Think of the world’s major superpowers, Russia, the United States, and China, each investing billions in surveillance systems to protect their interests.
This alone highlights the importance of maintaining a watchful eye. Scripture calls Christians a holy nation, and with that identity comes responsibility. The words sober and vigilant in today’s verse speak of spiritual attentiveness and alertness, removing distractions and inclining your ears to what God is saying.
Be on high alert! Ensure the places you visit, the people you associate with, and the media you consume aren’t entry points for the enemy. As you study the Word diligently, you’ll recognise the devil’s advances and avoid every trap set against you. Be a vigilant Christian!
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, help me to remain sober and vigilant in the spirit. Sharpen my discernment so I recognise every tactic of the enemy and walk safelybin Your truth.
