TREM DEVOTIONAL FOR 20TH SEPTEMBER 2025

Beloved, a born-again believer is a new creation. You cannot be condemned by errors committed inside Christ because of what Jesus Christ has already accomplished on your behalf. Romans 8:1 declares: “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Walking after the Spirit simply means living in the reality of what Christ accomplished on the cross for you, and aligning your life with that knowledge.

Romans 8:2-3 further explains: “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh.” The law was powerless to save or deliver you from sin. Instead, it condemned you, exposing your helplessness and showing that without a Savior, there is no hope.

The law was never given for man to keep perfectly; it was given to bring all under condemnation so that the need for a Saviour would become evident. Only then could we fully appreciate the work of grace and acknowledge that apart from God’s mercy, there is no salvation.

God condemned sin in the flesh of Jesus Christ “that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit” (Romans 8:4 KJV). The law demanded righteousness from you, but you could not meet its demands. Jesus came, fulfilled those demands, and credited His righteousness to you.
