BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Exodus 15-19:17:7; Matthew 22:1-33; Psalm 27:1-6; Proverbs 6:20 -26
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Haggai 1:1-11
1 In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying,
2 Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the LORD’S house should be built.
3 Then came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet, saying,
4 Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste?
5 Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider* your ways.
6 Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.
7 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider* your ways.
8 Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the LORD.
9 Ye looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the LORD of hosts. Because of mine house that is waste, and ye run every man unto his own house.
10 Therefore the heaven over you is stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed from her fruit.
11 And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the hands.
MEMORY VERSE: Malachi 1:8
“And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the LORD of hosts.”

MFM Daily Devotional Message Sunday 2nd February 2025.
It is quite disheartening that many believers are making God unhappy about the demeaning quality, quantity and attitude with which they bring their offerings to Him. When the giver is not acceptable to God, the gift too will not be acceptable. Honouring God with our substance and service to Him means making them the best and finest. That is what the Most High deserves!
In our Fire Scripture today believers in the time of Prophet Haggai were reprimanded because they were guilty of not putting God first in their priorities. They left the house of God dilapidated and desolate while they built and lived in their personal palatial residences. Similarly, in the book of Malachi, God condemned and chided those who were bringing polluted bread to His altar and those offering blind sacrifice as welI as lame and sick animals to Him. God placed a curse on all deceivers who have in their flock a male and sacrifice a corrupt thing unto Him (Malachi 1: 6-14), Beloved, if you are guilty of any or both of these cases mentioned in Haggai and Malachi, you must repent today, and God will bless you greatly.
God observes and keeps record of our giving. He is also the Ultimate Rewarder. Ensure that You please Him in your giving. Have the right heart and attitude. Give Him the very best and let Him come first. This was what made the difference between Abel’s sacrifice and Cain’s. Be wise! Don’t give God tattered currency notes and left-overs anymore, In your giving, let Him come firrst and offer Him the best.
Beloved, Solomon gave an unusual measure and in an unusual manner. The Bible says, “Give and it shall be given unto you a measure pressed down shaken together, running over shall men give back to your bosom. His fat and record-breaking offering earned Him a divine encounter that changed His life forever. Beloved, if you want God to visit you today, bless you with the blessings that money can buy and those that money cannot buy, resolve to give the utmost to the Highest in alI things and everyday of your life.
