ANGLICAN COMMUNION DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE FOR 12TH OCTOBER 2026.
As Paul concluded his letter to the Philippian church, he raised critical matters that we need to consider. First, he charged them to stand fast in the Lord. Second, he advised Euodias, and Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord. Third, he advised that those women who laboured with him in the gospel, with other fellow labourers, should be helped.
They were also to always rejoice in the Lord and do things in moderation; to make their requests known unto God in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving. Finally, they were urged to think on whatsoever things are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report; any virtue, and any praise, as well as to do those things, which they have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in him.
As Christians, we are expected to strive for the truth, and be honest and just in our relationships with both those in the faith and those outside it. Note that there were many others who went through this journey of life victoriously and at present, they form part of the great cloud of witnesses over our heavenly race (Heb. 12:1). We must learn from them by being careful to do what we saw in them and heard from them.
PRAYER POINT: Lord please help me to think on what is pleasing to you and to always do same in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
