ANGLICAN COMMUNION DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE  FOR 17TH APRIL 2026.

The people and authorities of Egypt demanded the immediate departure of the children of Israel. As directed by Moses, before leaving Egypt, the
children of Israel asked and received precious articles of silver, gold and expensive clothing from their taskmasters. What could have led to this sudden turn of events, if not the favour of God? In verse 36, the bible says that the Lord gave them favour i sight of the Egyptians.

Favour is the catalyst that delivers blessings. It is the positive disposition of one towards another, often unmerited by the recipient. It provokes mercy and benevolence, and delivers grace. It is easy for a friend to favour a friend but very instructive when an enemy decides to favouran adversary. Favor does not arbitrarily locate a man unless the Lord provokes it.

It is the Lord that quickens the heart of people to show favour. The Israelites received favour from their oppressors. Favour is far greater than labour; a moment of favour outweighs a lifetime of struggle. Remember that Jesus first found favour with God, and then with men (Luke 2:52). Beloved in Christ, one of the things you need to succeed in life is God’s favour. Pray that you will break into favour with God, and every other thing will fall in place (Prov. 16.7).

PRAYER POINT: Pray that the favour of the Lord will rest on you today.
