DAILY MANNA FOR TODAY
Recent medical research showed that about half of patients who received placebo treatment got well even when they knew that the pill was fake. Placebos are non-medical, fake pills given to patients to assuage their pain. The logic here is simple: the patients believed; hence they received the placebos and they felt better. Believing activates hopefulness. It kindles the vision of possibilities. It refocuses the mind on what can be done and energises the will to get it done. Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ said, “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth” (Mark 9:23).
Just as the placebo effect created a stronger connection between the brain and human body, thereby, producing healing effect, much more can the act of believing create faith and the necessary connection between man and God. The realm where impossibilities become possible belongs to the supernatural. Our key verse confirms that the act of believing builds a bridge between the natural and the supernatural. What is impossible naturally becomes possible supernaturally when we believe. Faithless Israel rejected the Messiah because of their unbelief. The Gentile world entered into the possibilities of God by accepting Him whom they knew not but believed in His power and personality.
Jesus is the embodiment of infinite possibilities, rejected by His own creation. Existing for eternity, He is the Foundation of all things. Despite being born of a virgin and being both man and God, He came to reconcile humanity with God. Jesus died unjustly, paying for sins He did not commit, but rose again after three days, offering hope to all who believe in Him as the Saviour. This truth may seem unbelievable, but it is a decision everyone must make before it is too late.
As many as received Him means, though He is Saviour, many will reject Him but will only blame themselves if they perish. Jesus is available for everyone. Accept Him today and receive the power of sonship that opens the door of eternal life to all recipients. Do not delay any longer. Make Jesus your Lord and Saviour today.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Believing is receiving; and receiving is becoming. Believe in Christ and become a candidate of heaven.
