DAILY MANNA FOR TODAY
It was a puzzling moment on a quiz programme when contestants failed to complete a very familiar line from the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6:9. The expected word was “hallowed,” yet none of them knew the answer. As surprising as this seemed, it reflects a deeper spiritual reality — many people remain ignorant of God’s truth and provisions.
In today’s passage, God lamented through Prophet Hosea the ignorance of Israel, represented by Ammi and Ruhamah. Though deeply loved and richly provided for by God, they failed to recognise His goodness. Instead of gratitude and obedience, they misused His blessings to pursue sinful paths. Because of this willful ignorance and ingratitude, judgment was pronounced.
Ignorance of God’s will is a dangerous foundation for anyone’s life. God’s desire in all His dealings with humanity is that we know Him personally and rightly. Throughout Scripture, the people of Israel suffered greatly whenever they forgot God or ignored His instructions. Likewise today, many believers struggle spiritually because they lack sound knowledge of God’s Word.
The knowledge of God is the gateway to victorious kingdom living. Ignorance breeds spiritual weakness, while understanding God’s truth brings light, direction, and stability. Therefore, every believer must be intentional about studying Scripture, remembering God’s goodness, and aligning their lives with His will.
The blessing of knowing God goes far beyond material things. In a world filled with confusion and darkness, those who truly know God walk in clarity and purpose. Approach Him daily with an open heart and a teachable spirit.
