The Church of Jesus Christ is the most powerful organism in the world. We’re far more than an organization; we’re an organism. The Church is a living thing, the living body of Christ in the earth. This is why your attitude towards the Church matters a great deal. You must consciously love the Church of God from the depths of your heart. The Apostle Paul, by the Spirit, describes the Church as that which God “purchased with his own blood.” The Lord Jesus paid an extraordinary price for the Church, the price of His blood, His very life.

Therefore, to love Christ is to love His Church. This love must go beyond the walls of your local assembly or denomination. Sometimes, people become so conscious of denominational differences; names, structures, or traditions that they forget the greater truth: we’re all one body in Christ. The local assembly down your street, though different from yours in style or administration, is still made up of God’s people. Love them.

Appreciate them. Pray for them. Honour the work God is doing through them. The Bible says in Ephesians 4:4, “There is one body, and one Spirit….” We aren’t rivals competing against one another; we’re one body, one family, brothers and sisters in Christ. When this understanding fills your heart, it’ll rid it of jealousy, strife and division to see and relate with fellow Christians with greater love, honour and sincerity because you recognize that the same life of Christ flows through all of us. What a blessing to belong to the family
