The notion of protecting your heart is by no means new or unrecognisable among Christian circles, but what does it actually mean to do so? Stay with me. The Bible shows us that your thoughts come from your heart, and its character reveals its condition. When you were born again, you were given a heart filled with love, filled with God’s very essence. As His children, protecting it means to maintain its perfected state in the Lord.
Several examples in the scriptures, from David to Solomon, show the dangerous ramifications of not preserving your refined state. When you do not do so, you are allowing the enemy’s unfiltered influence to plague your life. Never let pride, bitterness, anger, malice, and hatred take root in your life; these are poisonous to your heart. Instead, keep your heart sanctified through the Word of God and witness His goodness shower every area of your life today!
PROPHETIC DECLARATION: Today, I protect my heart with a hedge of fire. The distractions of this world can never and will never draw me away from my sanctification in Jesus’ Name! Amen.
