Today’s Word By Joel Osteen – 9th October 2026.
When someone goes around saying things about you that aren’t true, spreading rumors, it’s easy to get drawn into battles we’re not supposed to fight. We end up being vengeful, critical, disparaging others, saying things that aren’t true about them. Let God fight your battles. You don’t have to defend yourself; you have a defender. You don’t have to prove to people who you are, how you’re not what they said. Your reputation is in God’s hands, and He has never lost a battle. Ignore the negative chatter, don’t try to combat the rumors, and you’ll quiet them.
One test that we all have to pass is to not be critical toward people who are critical of us, to not disparage those who are trying to make us look bad. An eagle never fights with a crow that is pestering it. All the eagle does is fly higher to an altitude where the crow doesn’t want to go. Quit fighting and go up higher—ignore it. If you’re going to reach your highest potential, you have to be comfortable being misunderstood. That’s how you quiet it.

“Father, thank You that I have the power to ignore rumors and lies about me because You are my defender. Thank You that I can stay on the high road and let You take care of other people’s comments. I’ve made up my mind that I will take the high road and quiet the critics. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
