The Topic of Joel Osteen Devotional for 19th October 2024 Is “A Servant’s Heart”

SCRIPTURE: Philippians 2:5–8, NLT

You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.

JOEL OSTEEN MESSAGE FOR TODAY 19TH OCTOBER 2024.

Jesus Christ modeled a servant attitude that overflowed with joy. He had all the power in the world. He was the most influential man who ever lived. Yet on the night before He was betrayed, tried, and crucified, He took a towel, bowed down, and washed His disciples’ feet. He could have asked any of the disciples and they would have done it. He could have called an angel and said, “Hey, do Me a favor. Wash their feet. I don’t want to deal with it today.” Instead, Jesus washed their feet one by one. He gave us His example of service to others so we would know we’re never too important to be good to people.

We are never too successful or too high to bow down low and serve another person. Jesus said that if you want to be great in God’s kingdom, you have to have a servant’s heart. The more you walk in humility, and the more willing you are to serve others, the higher God can take you. As you lift others, God will lift you.

PRAYER FOR TODAY – JOEL OSTEEN 19TH OCTOBER 2024.

“Father, thank You that Jesus was willing to come to Earth as a man and then to humble Himself even further by becoming obedient to the point of death. Help me to humble myself and have the same servant heart as Jesus. I want to walk in humility and lift others up. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
