Joel Osteen Daily Inspiration for Today 18th September.
Moses felt like he was at a disadvantage. He had been out in the desert for forty years, hiding because of a mistake. God came to him in a burning bush and told him to tell Pharoah to let the Israelites go. They had been in slavery for many years. Moses said, “God, he’s not going to listen to me. I don’t have any influence, the right credentials. I’m not a good speaker; I stutter.” He went on and on making all these excuses. God said, “Moses, what do you have in your hand?” Moses said, “God, it’s a stick. It’s nothing. It’s just a piece of wood I got off a tree that I’ve been using as my staff to guide the animals.” God said, “Throw it on the ground.” He threw it down and it turned into a snake.
God took something Moses had that was common, ordinary, seemed like nothing special, but when God breathed on it, it became extraordinary. There are things God has put in your life that seem common: normal talent, normal neighborhood, normal job. It’s ordinary to us, but when God steps in, supernatural things happen.
