Paul said in Thessalonians, “Make it your ambition to live a quiet life and to mind your own business.” What can distract us quicker than anything is minding everyone else’s business. I have enough drama in my own life; I don’t need your drama. I’m not going to judge you, be critical, tell you how to run your life. That’s between you and God. “Well, if I were them, I wouldn’t have bought that house. If I were her, I wouldn’t have married that guy. If I were him, I wouldn’t have chosen that career.” Here’s the key, you’re not them. You haven’t walked in their shoes. You haven’t experienced their pain. You haven’t fought their battles. You don’t have their background. It’s tempting to be critical, judgmental, but maybe there’s something you don’t understand. Don’t be a hindrance; be a help.
