ANGLICAN COMMUNION DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY.

Anglican Communion Devotional
Daily Fountain 2022

The Topic of Daily Fountain Devotional for 24th November 2024 Is “Praising God For What He Does”

Read: Psalm 146: 1-10(NKJV)

1 Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul!
2 While I live I will praise the Lord; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.
3 Do not put your trust in princes, Nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help.
4 His spirit departs, he returns to his earth; In that very day his plans perish.
5 Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in the Lord his God,
6 Who made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that is in them; Who keeps truth forever,
7 Who executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives food to the hungry. The Lord gives freedom to the prisoners.
8 The Lord opens the eyes of the blind; The Lord raises those who are bowed down; The Lord loves the righteous.
9 The Lord watches over the strangers; He relieves the fatherless and widow; But the way of the wicked He turns upside down.
10 The Lord shall reign forever– Your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the Lord!

ANGLICAN COMMUNION DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE  FOR 24TH NOVEMBER 2024.

This Psalm is “the first of five joyous hymns of praise that close the Psalter”(The Ryrie Study Bible). It opens with a call to praise (vv. 1-5). The writer declared that he would praise the Lord while he lived (v.2). He listed the reasons for the praise as the greatness of God (v.6)and the graciousness of God (vv.7-10): God made heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them. God executes justice for the oppressed, gives food to the hungry, gives freedom to the prisoners, opens the eyes of the blind, raises those who are bowed down, helps widows and orphans among other things He does.

We cannot enumerate all that God does to warrant our praising Him. The truth is that our experiences of God are different and the way we praise Him sometimes is based on our personal experiences.

Do you feel there is nothing worthwhile God has done for you-just praise Him that you are alive today. That gives you more opportunity to be hopeful.”… A living dog is better than a dead lion” (Eccl. 9:4). You can also praise God for who He is; a great and mighty God!

PRAYER: Dear Lord, may I always see reasons to praise you daily in my life.

The Anglican Communion is the fourth-largest Christian denomination. Founded in 1867 in London, England, the communion currently has 85 million members within the Church of England and other national and regional churches in full communion. {.…Read more...}
