ANGLICAN COMMUNION DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY.
The Topic of Daily Fountain Devotional for 11th November 2024 Is “Every Knee Must Bow!”
Read: Daniel 2: 46-49(NKJV)
46 Then King Nebuchadnezzar fell on his face, prostrate before Daniel, and commanded that they should present an offering and incense to him.
47 The king answered Daniel, and said, “Truly your God is the God of gods, the Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, since you could reveal this secret.”
48 Then the king promoted Daniel and gave him many great gifts; and he made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief administrator over all the wise men of Babylon.
49 Also Daniel petitioned the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego over the affairs of the province of Babylon; but Daniel sat in the gate of the king.
ANGLICAN COMMUNION DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE FOR 11TH NOVEMBER 2024.
God helped Daniel to reveal Nebuchadnezzar’s dream and interpret it and the king realised there is a God greater than his gods who reveals hidden things. He had to prostrate in obeisance to his subject whom he thought was a god by asking the people to sacrifice to him (v.46). He openly acknowledge that the God of Daniel is the real God above his gods. How are the mighty fallen! He quickly promoted Daniel and his colleagues.
Some persons in positions of authority do not see such positions as God-given privilege. As a result, they lord it over others or their subjects because they believe they have the power of life and death. However, God can humble such people in manners they never imagined. Imagine the great king of kingdoms in our text, prostrating before his servant! He could not have imagined himself doing so!
Today, the Gospel is being preached everywhere and many because of their worldly positions, are shunning it. As Philippians 2: 10-11 declares, one day, every knee must bow and every tongue must confess the Lordship of Jesus Christ! Take the easy way out today by accepting Jesus into your life.
PRAYER: Dear Lord Jesus, I bow to your Lordship today before it is too late.
