TREM DEVOTIONAL FOR 29TH FEBRUARY 2024
Our Bible text today says: “Ye shall receive power…” The purpose of this power is to be a witness. The scripture doesn’t say that you shall do witnessing… That is what we often limit ourselves to. Speaking to souls and winning souls into the Kingdom. And there is nothing wrong with that. However, this scripture says you shall be. In other words, you are the witness. You are the witness in the different areas and in the different parts of the society where you have been planted.
The book of Isaiah declares: “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.” (Isaiah 60:1-2 KJV). Already, the Lord has risen upon us by the reason of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Already, we are sons and daughters of glory! And so, the question is: Is this glory being displayed in our world?
As a believer, you are here to be the salt that brings out God’s flavour on the earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? How do you expect unbelievers to taste godliness if you lose your saltiness? They can never taste godliness. And so, the rot continues because you have lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage.
God is not a secret to be kept. That is not how it is done. You can’t be a Christian in church and be a criminal outside. You are here to be light, bringing out God’s colours to the world. In other words, your Christianity is not supposed to be about: “I am in church. I’m a Christian”. The impact of your Christianity should be felt in the nation. That is what it means to be a witness.
