MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL 18TH NOVEMBER 2024
The Fire Scripture for today gives us a command to grow in grace and also explains how to embark on such a journey into growth which is by constant and continual knowledge of Jesus Christ. The memory verse for today also emphasizes that the only way we can multiply the grace of God in our lives is through knowledge of God and of Jesus Christ.
In the school of grace, we are permitted to grow from one level of grace to another level of grace. John 1:16, says “And of his fullness have we all received, grace for grace.” This scripture emphasizes different levels of grace. There is grace for salvation which all of us had enjoyed at one point in time at the bus stop of salvation. But the journey of grace does not stop at the bus stop of salvation; there are greater heights of grace which all of us must continue to thirst for at every point in time. No wonder Apostle Paul cried out in Philippians 3:10, “That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death.” The more we know him, the stronger we become and the more exploit we will do. Daniel 11:32b says, “But the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits.”
This knowledge comes through the word of God. The more we behold Him through the mirror of the word of God, the more we become like Him. 2 Corinthians 3:18 says, “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Peter 2:2 adds, “As new born babes desire the sincere milk of the word of God that ye may grow thereby.” The word of God is the ingredient and the condiment that facilitates sincere and genuine knowledge of God.
Beloved, the word of God guarantees our development and advancement such that we can become all He has destined us to become. The more we fellowship with His word, the more grace abounds in our lives. We only grow in grace as we grow in the word of God and in the place of prayer.
