Anglican Communion Devotional
Daily Fountain 2022

The Topic of Daily Fountain Devotional for 9th September 2023 Is ”One Body, Different Parts”

Read: 1 Corinthians 12:1-11(NKJV)

12:1. Now concerning spiritual [gifts,] brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant:
12:2. You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led.
12:3. Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.
12:4. There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
12:5. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord.
12:6. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all.
12:7. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit [of all:]
12:8. for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit,
12:9. to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit,
12:10. to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another [different] kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.
12:11. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

ANGLICAN COMMUNION DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE  FOR 9TH SEPTEMBER 2023.

In January 1990, I was part of a group that gathered in a prayer camp to seek the face of the Lord in prayer and fasting for 3 three days. It was indeed an experience I can’t easily forget in my Christian life on earth. At the last prayer session before the dismissal, a brother filled in the Holy Ghost, began to speak in the language that we couldn’t understand.

Almost immediately, another brother began to interpret what he was saying. It got to a point, we understood through the interpreter that God said He was giving us the latter rain. Almost immediately, physical rain began to pour down in that prayer camp. What made it so significant was that it was in the midst of dry season, and the rain ceased immediately after the prophecy stopped.

How could we have understood if there was no interpreter? Would the brother through whom the original message came from boast that he was the main man? Not at all. Whatever spiritual gift any man manifests in God’s house is not more important than the other person’s.

We are all parts of the same body, and cannot claim to be complete without the other. Seek Spiritual gifts but also realise that you are not complete without others.

PRAYER: Dear God, help me to realise that the spiritual gifts in other people are also from you. Amen.

The Anglican Communion is the fourth-largest Christian denomination. Founded in 1867 in London, England, the communion currently has 85 million members within the Church of England and other national and regional churches in full communion. {.…Read more...}
