Paul said in Romans 5, “Let us rejoice in our trials, knowing that the pressure is producing unswerving endurance. Endurance is developing maturity of character, and character is producing hope, confident expectation of God’s goodness.” Paul was saying, if you’ll see the pressure the right way, the difficulties, the delays, the Sauls, if you’ll stay full of joy and not get bitter, then that pressure will make you stronger. It’s doing something on the inside, getting you prepared for what God has in store.
