Pray Over This:
“Then Mary said to the angel, ‘How can this be, since I do not know a man?’ And the angel answered and said to her, ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible.’”

Ponder This
The Virgin Birth does not depend on your understanding for its validation. There are a lot of things we don’t understand. We don’t understand how a brown cow can eat green grass and give white milk that we churn and turn to yellow butter. We don’t understand that. Most of us don’t even understand how a windshield wiper works. We know it works. It takes the water off the windshield. But if I asked you to draw a diagram and describe to me what makes the windshield wiper go back and forth, many could not do it. If you are an engineer, you could do that, but there would be other things you couldn’t explain. There are a lot of things we don’t understand but we experience.
Now, Mary asked a question, a good question: “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” Many people ask, “Isn’t the Virgin Birth a biological impossibility?” The angel, in effect, answered for us: “Is there anything too hard for God? With God all things are possible.”
What is something in life you don’t understand but experience and believe?
What parts of Jesus’ birth are hard for you to comprehend? How can you pursue faith when you don’t understand?
Practice This
Spend some time thanking God that we don’t need full understanding to possess belief in Him.
