Scripture: Ecclesiastes 10:18.
By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through.
Thought for The Day: The way of slothfulness is the way of systemic degradation.

PASTOR PAUL ENENCHE’S SEEDS OF DESTINY DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE FOR 13TH SEPTEMBER 2022.
Our anchor Scripture reveals that a building decays by much slothfulness and houses drop through because of idleness. The Nineteenth Verse of the Sixth Chapter of First Corinthians reveals that your body is the temple or the building of the Holy Ghost.
This means, your body, which is the house, temple or building of the Holy Ghost, decays by slothfulness; idleness makes your body to drop through.
You know, dynamism is necessary for the vitality of life. It is an active life that is a healthy life. The life that is not engaged rapidly degenerates and dilapidates.
To put this in another way, the way of slothfulness is the way of systemic degradation. Systems are degraded where slothfulness is allowed. Laziness or indolence is one cause of body sickness. Slothfulness is dangerous.
There is an animal called the sloth. Sloths are mostly found in South America. The animal hangs on trees upside down, and in this position, they sleep for fifteen hours a day. They are too tired to lie normally. The animal is very slothful and sloppy. It is its name, sloth that formed the root word of the word, “slothfulness”.
They have tiny tails and big eyes. They eat fruits and leaves of various types. Sloths cannot walk. If they are to move at all, they crawl, and are extremely slow. And because of their “slothfulness,” fungi and green algae grow on their bodies. They are too tired to drive pests away from their bodies. These are the features of the sloth. Beloved, refuse to be like the sloth. Don’t be slothful in life.
Please take note of this: Slothfulness is the way to systemic degradation. Lethargy is the death of energy. When a person is lethargic, he cannot be energetic at the same time.
REMEMBER THIS: The way of slothfulness is the way of systemic degradation.

- By all means, fight the spirit and character of slothfulness to safeguard your destiny.
- Be actively engaged in the service of God and humanity for the preservation of your life.
PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You deliver me from slothfulness, laziness or idleness in life. Help me to engage myself in active service to both God and humanity, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
